Reflections


Mirror, mirror
On the wall,
Why do you scare me,
Worst of all?


Took a glance at myself
I hate what I see
I can’t believe my eyes
Is that person really me?

The image reflected
Shows too much feelings
The sadness in my eyes
The pain feels searing

Tears start slipping
I can’t keep the sorrow in
“Please stop the rain!”
My soul is shouting

I spoke to my failing sanity
“I don’t know what to do!”
“Look away!” It replied
“Before you lose me too!”

And so I look away
Wipe the tears from my face
Can’t believe I lost control
Feel like such a disgrace

Next time I see a mirror
I definitely won’t look
Afraid of breaking down again
I’ll hide my reflection with a book
